Welz Tri-lobed Heart

The Tri-lobed Heart is a shape seen with a wide variety of decors which are also found on other distinctive Welz shapes.

The majority of the decors are not decors I would classify as Deco Era Tango décors, although a few pieces sharing some of these decors have been found with post WWI provenance marks indicating Czechoslovakia as the country of origin. This mark would date the use of these décors extended to at least 1919, and possibly later.

There are a couple of variations seen in the style of foot and the rigaree applied to the main bowl of the body.

It would seem, from where they are most commonly seen, that the majority of this production shape may have been shipped to the UK market.
